"Low memory" error/crash
Hi all,

Is anyone else experiencing random crashes to desktop followed by a Windows (I'm on Win 7 64bit) low memory error? It says WolfNewOrder is taking too much memory and needs to close. I have 8GBs of RAM and I'm not even going above 60% usage. I have no idea what is causing this.

Any help would be appreciated!

Hi man,

I have exactly same problem as you.
I have win8 x64, i5, 8gb ram and after 15min of playing Wolfenstein i get ,,low memory error" and crash!
Usage of RAM is approximately 40% during gameplay...

I really dont understand this low memory crashes.. :/

I would appreciate help too. Pleeaase

Make sure VT compress is Enabled turn down MAX PPF if you have it set super high same with shadow res and see if it fixes the issue. i think the issue with this game is it uses Vram fully so it matters not what cpu and vidcard you got unless u got a 4-6gb higher end card.

i had this same issue when i thought my 2 GTX 690s can handle the game turnt up but when i changed some vid settings it ran/runs smoothly

Hi, guys.

Thanks for the replies. I can say that upping my page file size from 1GB to 5GB has fixed the issue. The game seems to use the page file heavily, even if you are not using all of your RAM. I hope this helps you.

Have a good one.

Nice catch! Just goes to show how many little config changes can cause issues.

Indeed! I previously had no issues with a 1GB page file - I have a single 512GB SSD in my system so I tried to cut down usage as much as possible - but TNO seems to like a fair amount of it. It's strange because the game has a x64 executable so you would assume it would use as much RAM as is available; I seem to max out at around 65% of the 8GBs available when looking at task manager.

I would say 3GB VRAM or better. I have a HD7970GHz and never had this issue.

That is odd. I always keep my page file at 1GB and haven't had the game crash yet. I do have 16GB RAM but I don't think that is the issue.

I think it's possible that the game is actually trying to max out 8GBs, including other programs and services in the background, but it doesn't show under task manager, so when it tries to start using the page file and there's only 1GB, this happens.

I could be wrong, but this has fixed my issue from what I can tell so far.

All, I finally solved my low memory crashing with Wolfenstein New order..I have i5 8 Gig ram, SLI GTX 560.....what finally solved is windows 7....BITS was turned off or messed up. Make sure your Background Intelligent System Service (BITS) is active and working. To get there Right click "Computer"...then "Manage"..under Services and Applications..."Services"...find Background Intelligent System Service and make sure it's Started. This will fix non-functioning gangets as well....there are several sites that you can Google to get BITS fixed as well.
