Game doesn't save with mods?
Every time I play with mods and I quit the game it doesn't save my progress.

100% agree....
BUT I found this.
I am not sure if it works yet as I deleted the game after the ridiculous mod thing.
http://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Orcs_Must_Die!#Mods

Under the modding section it goes on about making a new "mod" folder.
Again, not sure if this enables the save feature.

let us know if anyone tries it.

The link is 100% safe WOT (web of trust) gives it full marks and a big green doughnut. And I have been on it,
Its safe (or I wouldn't have linked it.

FYI
I am not sure if you are on the right thread, or even forum.
This is all about mods, and modding in the single player (none leader board) part of a 2 year old game. That the devs have opened for Steam workshop modding. Then ridiculously implemented a none save facility, while using the very mods they are allowing.

The whole point of this thread is to be able to "earn" skulls, which, I assume you meant by your "money" reference,
And then still be able to keep them with the game saving them. But as is now, when you restart the game, it has wiped ALL of your progress.

This applies even to cosmetic mods, such as character skins.

you have mental problems? well, some people may use it for cheating, but none in this thread sayd 'i want to cheat in single player' they want changes, like having more difficulty enemies ... even if they want to cheat, what is the problem? singleplayer dont hurt you

Well said sir.!

This talk of "cheating" nonsense, is just silly and childish. I brought the game, the same as you did. Its a single player experience I want.
So what the heck is the problem.

This s not said to other Steamers. Whom I do find it incredulous that they get so eat-up about single player mods.

This is said to the damned devs who have the sheer gall to take our money. Sell you a game with single player, and then block us playing the single player part how we want.

I have said it before and will repeat myself...ahem.

Listen up Robot Entertainment (who I VERY much doubt ever read these forums, let alone now) Take a leaf from Runic Games, (Torchlight 2) and have two save folders . One for Sp and one for MP so we can Mod the sp game.

Rant over...Whew. I feel better now. :parts: :D

well sayd too..
in multiplayer i can totaly understand not having mods save but in singleplayer.. it is almost like giving no mod support, since no one can play the game with it :/\

Devs!
Making it impossible to save is NOT a solution. This discourages players from experimenting or being creative with the game and even worse: Not buying the game.
Personally, this "feature" upsets me greatly and, if a third were to ever be released, this would undoubtedly be a deal breaker for me. As for Orcs Must Die! 2, unless a hotfix for this is released, I'm afraid it will collect dust until it is uninstalled and forgotten.

Alternative solutions: Just prevent modded scores from submitting to leaderboards? Have completely separate saves or separate leaderboards? Make modded games purely a single-player or friends-only experience (seriously it won't let you play with anyone unless they have the exact same mods subscribed to in the exact same order anyway)? These are just off the top of my head, if it was a game I created then I would easily find an elegant solution, as I'm sure you can, too.
Get on it.

Well said.
But will ROBOT listen?

This is one of my favourite games of all time. And this one absurd decision spoils the replay value immensely.

Because we know we cant play our "paid for," and "SINGLE player" game, how we want to.

And as you pointed out, there are really easily fixes to this.

Because lets be honest... Who in their right mind, wants to go to all the trouble of installing some amazing mods, and then have to just replay the same levels over and over. With no progression saves.
it is simply illogical.

Lets hope that now its been out for about a hundred years. ROBOT will introduce this, so we can go back to playing.

Could not agree more. If ROBOT still supports this game, I hope that this message can get to the right people and this issue resolved. It's been years, there's no reason not release a simple fix for the fans out there. It could even be a promotional fix to try and bring in more sales: "Mod-friendly progression!"
This would be an ideal game to spend with friends or by oneself if this issue were to be fixed. I'm sure if it was, then any games provided in the future will be looked upon more favorably as well.
This would be a helpful investment for everyone.

i doubt they are, since nothing changed in so many years
but yeah,if i cant progress with mods why i'd want to play with them at all? it really destroys replayability and fun
they should learn with minecraft of how much modding matters if done rightly
If you vvant the Dev.s to read, contact them through the Orcs Must Die! Unchained forums.

Anyone know a way to create a separate save file location at least? Like a modder working around the issue?

Thanks.
