Help a newcomer to EQII
I just thought of playing this game. I've played Runescape before this (if MMORPGs are concerned ). So wanna ask if its better than Runescape or not. Also, what features are cut-off from the f2p version of this game?
thanks...

Not a ton. You can still play to lvl 90, have the 4 main races/classes, and unlimited gold. Inventory is a little tight with the free version. and upgrade reminders are common.

Nothing is really cut off, you can pay for silver for 5 bucks get a couple of slots on bags and stuff. If you enjoy it a lot go out to walmart and pay for a 15 dollar soe card and get 5 free bucks when you get from there and support the game. I've spent a lot on game because i love it, their stuff on game is pay for cosmetics pretty much.

my first foray into MMO's was with with runescape also! I moved onto wow and played various other MMO's, but i've settled on EQ2. Free to play doesnt miss too much out for starter levels, its only really end game content and raids that you would need to upgrade to gold for, or if you want to play a different race/class than what SOE currently offer on the F2P version. The expansions come in handy for the mercenaries if you plan to solo a lot of the content, but if you have a good guild, then groups generally arent hard to form :) Silver subscription can be purchased via the in game shop or as the poster above mentions, with a SOE card.
http://www.everquest2.com/free shows you the benefits of each level of membership if you want to take a look and decide for yourself :) I play on EU splitpaw server, we have a great population and generally fantastic community here in my opinion. I can't speak for other servers as i havent really played on them :) If you do decide to download EQ2, then make sure you pick which region you want to play on the launcher drop down menu. There's a choice between US or EU. Whichever is better for your general play times. :)

So its all settled, I'll download EQ2 and if I find it addictive enough then I'll go membership way
Thanks again :)

I would say that its better than runescape since you dont have to be a member to do most of the game but its your choice.

ok then
so which i should begin with? EQ1 or EQ2 ?
there are still many people who play EQ1

Not many play EQ1, and EQ2 is WAY bigger (more classes, races, weapons, armors etc.) and there are far more players there :)
