I just started playing in the Oasis server. Can't wait for the server merge.:steamhappy:
If you are planning on playing with a Free account, I would recommend to purchase the mercenary feature so you get to call a character that fights by your side

I would say this..Don't play on the live servers...Join the time locked server..Probably 50x more people on there to play with..You will almost always find a group

While the time locked servers are interesting, there are far more people on Antonia Bayle than there probably ever will be on those new servers. The real question is what are you looking to get out of the game? If you are looking for Role Playing, AB is a great place. If you are looking for Raiding, AB is a good place. If you are looking for PVP, there are servers for that, but I have no idea what they are like, it isn't my playstyle. If you are looking for exploration and adventure of seeing the wolrd for the first time, then the time locked servers are probably a better option.

As for how it compares to WoW, mechanic wise, they are very similar. Gameplay wise, EQ2 is a lot more about the size of the world, exploration and finding new things, where WoW tended to lean a lot more towards the pvp side of things. Both have solo, group, and raid content though. I think EQ2 has a bit more going for it though. There just seems to be more to see and do. After 10+ years of playing, there are still things to do and places I haven't seen.

That is because the few paople that are on the TL servers are forced into a much smaller area than on AB. Hop into one of the new zones or where ever there is an event currently going on and there are always several instances of the zone on AB. There are usually 4+ instances most evenings just when somehting mudane happens like the current Moonlight circle thing that happens every month.

Everquest II is one of those games that falls far short of what it should be, with the developers constantly looking at something else to remove their boredom of it.

Everquest II's life-span is the product of bored developers with bad pay incentives.

But nobody gets it and I doubt they will another 5 years from now when they find that out.

dnc sounds salty..

EQ2 has been great, consistent content, TLE PVP Servers are really fun. I assume dnc has never had the chance to be good at PVP or wanted in end game raiding on AB etc. There are great AA systems to customize class, an array of things to do from questing, pvp, crafting systems, and crafting classes themselves that allow you to get only certain things in the game.

By far the most immersive game out there, given it has over a decade of content that gets updated quarterly. If you need help about the classes send me a message with what playstyle you like, for the guy above you mentioned 'no stress'.. you could play a necro, or conj, illy or coerc and always have a pet (beastlord, channeler kind of the same but different solo).. good groups make things nonstressful though even in a high stress position (tank/healer).. i would go utility (chanter, bard, support etc.) <3

Maj'Dul has been quite active, this is a recent merge of three other servers. Lots of people around compared to before. Plenty of chat and grouping. Lots of fun this past week.
