Start up issues

Been trying to play Torchlight for awhile now, was working perfectly at the start, but these passed few weeks or so, I've never gotten into the game itself.
This is the messege I get when trying to run the game either by the shortcut on the desktop or from the PLAY button in steam library: "This game is currently unavailable (Application running)."
Been trying to resolve it, but cant find anything. Took a look in the task manager, but cant find anything in there either.
Anyone else got an idea?
