Game crashed on me and now my saves are gone

Hello, my computer crashed on me last night as I was exiting the game and when I loaded up the game today, my savedata was apparently lost as it will only let me select new game. I've done a bit of checking and it appears my save files are still there with my character names, but I have no idea what the status of everything is. Can anyone fill me in if I can potentially recover my savedata?

go to where ur saves were located in the torchlight folder then u should see restore files with the characters name in them. change the .restore extension to .SVB and the saves should be playable

The game may have created a new subfolder for saves in C:\Users\Yourname\Documents\My Games\Runic Games\Torchlight 2\save\
just copy the saves out of one and stick it in the other
