Which of these games is A Game of Dwarves more like?

I have not played Dwarf Fortress but it is not really like any of the other games you mentioned. More like Evil Genius and Dungeon Keeper in that the focus is on building a base rather than harvesting hero souls. But AGoD is not a sophisticated base-building sim like EG/DK. In AGoD you just place objects for food, rest and research, then dig out areas of interest when your warriors are strong enough to handle combat.

It's quite the rip-off from DF from what I can tell. If it didn't look like playstation era graphics I might be more understanding, but it just looks bad.

evil genius is one of a kind and i love that game to death, wish i owned it

I find it far more relaxing to play in comparision to Dungeon Keeper (DK 1 that is, I stopped with PC games after, um, Baldur's Gate 1 or was it Stronghold 1?). Maybe no real big challenge for the hardcore gamer, but still rather intriguing for a laid-back approach. I like these retroish graphics, but I 'm a sucker for gamer nostaligia.

Dungeon Keeper 2 was a lot better than Game of Dwarves..

I am not familiar with Dungeons but I would say it is most like Dwarf Fortress with better graphics and UI but a lot less scope and content.

Unlike EG and DK, there is only limited number of enemies and they do not invade your base. You find them in caves and you can teleport soldiers in to clean them up so they present little threat. The base is multilayered like DF. Unlike DF the economy is mostly money based rather than resource and crafting.

I wouldd recommend DF over it hands down if the dwarves would stop killing each other and the UI was better. This fills in for DF when you don't want to put up with these flaws or when you want to see what you do in 3D and color. I find it fun but I consider DF, EG, and DK to be better games.
