Worms Revolution
Old Worms fan wondering if this is worth it
So I've been craving some worms crazyness lately but I haven't kept up with the series for a long time (Worms 2). After scanning some threads here it seems some people think this game will disappoint old fans. Is that true? Is there any better worms game out there for old fans?

Worms Revolution is awesome, I can't think of anything bad about it. The biggest changes are the graphics and the use of dynamic water, which I think are both great additions. If you want to play a more traditional worms game then worms reloaded or worms armageddon are both great.

Games physics in Worms Revolution is more realistic then Worms 2. The rope is different, doesn't like old rope. Old fans like Worms Armageddon. BUT I think Worms Revolution is REALLY WORTH TO BUY, although not all old fans like it. As rizza87 said Worms Reloaded more traditional then Revolution.
I played a lot off time in ALL 2d worms and I think now that revolution - best 2d worms!

Well, since you haven't played Worms in a long time (and skipped Armageddon) I doubt that you will be seriously disappointed with Revolution, but if you had played W:A and WWP online then yes... you would be very disappointed with Revolution. Anyway, I'd recommend saving your money because Worms Clan Wars comes out in Q3 of this year, which means September at the latest. Also, Worms Reloaded is on sale on Steam right now. You can get the game plus all of the DLC for cheap.
I have about 4 versions of worms on steam, all good
Wait... save your money for the NEW worms thats coming out in a few months... You'll kick yourself if you buy revolution now and then worms clan wars gets released which is revolution but better!!!

Alright sounds good. But what about Worms reloaded? I'm still a bit confused on what the difference is between reloaded, which I guess is a modern update of classic worms, and revoluton/clan wars.
Reloaded looks very hot: good graphics, many different colorful maps and gameplay from WWP but weapon settings for nOObs - to much the being self-directed weapons (like rocket or air strikes) and they is very powerfull. Also no placement of worms before the battle... Buy Revolution and play with me )

One thing I don't like in Worms Revolution - there's no team flags from previous series. Many games of this series include this option, but Revolution's not. In Worms: Clan Wars there's emblems, which reminds me a flag variation.

I was a returning player also from Worms 2, I didn't play Armageddon because it simply wouldn't save any data on my PC.

I love this one, I bought the Season Pass as well and spent a bit of time getting Gold in every mission, campaign and puzzle, then I played Ranked games online until I bought 8 of every worm, and then I made Rope Race, Super Sheep, Mole and a variety of Custom maps in the editor and if I'm to be honest, I could still load it up on any day and have fun.

The only bad thing about it are a few glitches which cause it to crash, and sometimes Steam cuts you off, if you can put up with that then it's all good. The roping in this is much harder but still possible, if you look me up on YouTube you'll see what I mean.

Hope it helps.
Worms Reloaded was basically a new version of Worms 2 Armageddon with less features. worms Revolution was basically a whole new worms game with new gameplay in a whole new graphical engine, which the new worms, Clan Wars, will be based apon with more optimizations and better features with an emphasis on multiplayer. Hopefully running smoother and more optimized, and Clan Wars levels are supposed to be 30% larger then any other worms maps as well which is a nice feature...
It's a hard choice...Reloaded plays like the classic Worms series and Revolution is a completely new game, but have some weapons (like turrets) that were introduced in Reloaded. I think Reloaded is more fun, but if you play Revolution you'll be ready for the upcoming Clan Wars. Summer sale is coming...Get both!
Armageddon is the best one by far (my favourite game of all time), it still has active online community as well! Incredibly deep gameplay and customization. It's a shame it's so pricey on Steam currently, but you can get the retail version very cheap from Amazon etc.

I guess I'd like the new games a lot more if I didn't play the older ones first, but compared to Armageddon, they just feel like heavily dumbed down, half-as*ed console ports to me. But since I love Worms-type gameplay I still enjoyed playing Revolution for a while, especially the puzzle campaign.

If you decide to get a newer title, waiting for Clan Wars is probably wisest, it's coming later this year. You can still apply for the coming beta here: http://www.team17.com/news/2013-06-17/wanted-pc-beta-testers-for-worms-clan-wars-

Armageddon is great but without hats. Sometimes I get confused ally to the foe.
the game itself is great. but u should know that:
1) not many users play this
2) the net code is horrible ^^
