Prince of Persia

Prince of Persia

Are light seeds required?
I don't get it. The game is constantly shoving button prompts down my throat but did very little to explain if I need to get all of the light seeds, or just a certain amount, or what. I just finished the first area. Do I need to waste my time collecting all 60 seeds?

If I do have to get all of them in every level...
...I may or may not keep playing.

Yeah, I just picked this up from gog, and that's about the game right there. You "fight" the monster to open the fertile ground, collect enough light seeds to get the next power up to allow you travel to a few new areas, rinse and repeat. At least, that's all I've done for about 4-5 hours of the game so far. It's just a big jungle gym. Maybe some of the people who beat it can say that there's more to it later, but from here all I see is collect the blue orbs with occaisional quicktime battles. Debating an uninstall as well.
From what I remember, you only need to get the required amount for your next power up. As soon as you have all four, you can finish the game without needing to get anymore light seeds. You don't have to get all the light seeds in each fertile ground, unless you are a completionist.

this. unless you're playing on consoles, where there's an achievement/trophy for collecting all light seeds.
If you collect all the 1001 light seeds the prototype skins will become available. To unlock the other skins codes are enough, but for the prototype prince light seeds are required.
