Digging up this undead thread to say this issue still exists. Purchased this game today to entertain the kids and was really disgusted by the evident lack of support from the developer.
If you are not going to make even a minimal effort to present a complete and functional product to customers, please don't bother porting it to PC. There are plenty of other developers that deserve my cash for thier efforts.

i got it at sale but when it first came, so i pay 2.5 dollars, and i was the first to post in the old steam forums, and here, to fix this problem, and still waiting, when final fantasy 40 arrives, they gonna fix it

Download and unrar Chiri's force certain resolution/hertz/fullscreen fix, D3Dx.rar. into Space Ark's folder, the 3 specific files you need are:

d3d9.dll
d3dx.ini
dxgi.dll

Open d3dx.ini in notepad and replace the contents with the following and save:

[Device]
width=1280
height=720
full_screen=1

I just tried it out on an Intel GPU'd laptop ... I guess it does. :)

edit: removed NVIDIA only from the work around.

Thank you, that did the trick! Now if I could only get the game to exit out properly, without having to constantly kill the SpaceArk.exe process in task manager every time.
