How bout you make a compelling argument why bunnyhopping should be allowed beyong that, if enabled, bunnyhoppers will be able to bunnyhop? I think the main reason it is disabled on most servers is that is seperates the players between bunny hoppers and those that dont know how.

To be serious I would like the bunnyhop block off aswell - Not because i think it's fair in any way but because i miss the old ZPS where people with different types of abilities(bunnyhopping, exploiting, aiming, hiding) played side by side which always made for unique scenarios every new round. I personally feel that most servers' banning of a lot of the above really sucks out a lot of the fun and the freedom to do whatever the hell you want which is what that got me into ZPS.

But as i said, it's the servers that decide whether or not to have the bhop block off and that's fine by me. Sadly there's not a lot of servers that allow or support things as bhopping, exploiting and all that good stuff.

But to you cheer you up just a tad bit; Here's an IP for a server which has bunnyhopping enabled and is fairly populated most of the time: 46.174.50.29:27228.

Pandering to players who don't know how to do something in a game by removing it instead of teaching them is the reason the church, cabin, lake, and redqueen maps got and stayed popular.

This is a common problem within the ZPS community and I agree 100 %.

Thanks for the feed back you said about my maps and yes i would love to play on a server where the bunnyhop is allowed.
I was noob when i started playing zps and in that time i didn't know how to jump like that. So i learned in some fast way, made some shots and boom: bunny hop is easy for me and faster way to move away from zombies in harder situations. And i know some people known how to moderate that use of bunny on newest players and on expert/professional players.

I know would be unfair use bunny hop to reach a new player so i would play nice with him - both sides wins! And use bunny hop with my friends and players that known how to play FPS.

It's a zombie survival game not Super Mario Bros :claugh:

Bunnyhopping was never meant to be a part of the game and thus it was removed. And I for one am thankful that it was. Difficult to immerse oneself in a zombie apocalypse scenario when people are bounding around like frickin' Zebedee for the whole round...

I am with you, dogbert.

Bunnyhopping is just a lame tactic. In fact, its not even a tactic. Its an exploit. Besides, the game already heavily favors zombies since they win like 80% of all rounds (if not more on certain maps *cough* Tanker *cough*). No need to give them an even bigger edge.

My server is more populated since enabling bunnyhopping. I agree that it adds to the gameplay in that it creates more scenarioes which you ahve to take into account. Also the idea that it ruins immersion doesn't affect me as Zps has always seemed crude, (like them grunting noises the characters make) so there is little immersion in the first place as far as it being 'real'.

Of course it's not an alternate reality simulator lol, but ZPS was never designed to be 'Quake with zombies' either, it was designed to be a human vs zombies survival game. I believe in the very early days they even described it as 'a zombie apocalypse survival simulation' or something like that, because of the limited weapons and ammo angle. Naturally this was before games like Day Z came along and redefined just what 'limited' meant lol (and that includes limited fun).
And yes, I actually would like to see the pushback glitch removed too.

It's up to you how you approach the game, but my point is that bunnyhopping was never intended to be in it. I respect the developers for removing it once they realised how much it was damaging the game and their vision for it.

For the record I've been a playtester for ZPS for over 4 years and a player of the game for much longer than that, so I know how ZPS works and how it's supposed to work. It's not supposed to include bunnyhopping :claugh:

Any servers that enable it are welcome to the players who play there just so they can bunnyhop. I'm happy to provide bunnyhop free servers, which are very popular.

It may have started out as an exploit, but it's a legitimate part of gaming now. Games purposely add bunnyhopping. Exploiting the current jumping system in ZPS isn't any better. Zombies jumping and spinning around like ballerinas? Give me bunnyhopping over that any days.

Yes, bunnyhopping is a legitimate part of gaming...in competitive shooters. Something that ZPS clearly is not. Bunnyhopping makes sense in games like Quake and CS but it just doesnt belong in a cooperative survival horror IMO. Apples and oranges really.

You can't just say zombies win 80% and they're balanced... Why are they winning 80% of the rounds? In my experience, it's because most players don't know what to do, not because the zombies are strong.

Err...are we playing the same game ? Take a team of experienced survivors and pitch them against a team of experienced zombies and guess who will win most, if not all, rounds ? Right, zombos. I am a seasoned and reasonably skilled ZPS player and from my experience, no matter how good your human teammates are, it often takes just a single experienced Whitey to tip the balance in favor of the zombie team before the round even starts. Even a team of average players in zombie team can be a challenge for survivors if they have a minimum of coordination and know what to do. Thats why i dont agree with your proposal to re-enable bunnyhopping. It is already challenging enough to win as survivor and you want to make it even more difficult ? O_o

I dont mind a good challenge but playing one-sided rounds isnt my definition of fun.

It doesn't really give either side an advantage over the other to enable bunnyhopping.

Of course it does. Gaining extra speed and messing with the hitboxes isnt an advantage to you ?

Originalmente postado por arrrrideablellllama:
The current system definitely favors survivors though and I still think survivors are pretty strong compared to zombies, with lunge jumping now draining zombie stamina and survivors still able to fly away from zombies when they get hit.

The current system hardly favors survivors since, as said earlier, zombs win the large majority of the rounds. Sure, survivors are pretty strong againt isolated or disorganized zombies but that advantage quickly fade against a horde.

Don't forget that humans can also bunnyhop and get the same speed advantage, though I do agree it slightly favours zombies if enabled.

I know this is totaly unrelated to bunnyhopping, but I found this song in the files for ZPS. It's only 1:19 long and labeled as TATS_RAVE. There's also a whole bunch of other unused things in the files as well. Anyway...
