Hello everyone!

After 5 years of development alongside our full-time jobs and families, Galaxy Highways is finally here! We poured our hearts and a piece of ourselves into this game, and we're incredibly happy to finally share the full experience with you.

So far, the feedback has been amazing. We’re receiving so many positive feedback here on Steam and also across social media. It truly means the world to us. Thank you!

What to expect in the full version

🎮 18 handcrafted pixel-art levels across 3 story chapters

Each chapter featuring a unique enemy faction from the Mantis species. Every enemy is little bit different and has it's own unique attacks.

🚀 3 playable ships, each with distinct primary weapons and stats to match your playstyle

Incruster – A balanced all-rounder with average HP, DPM, and dash energy regeneration.
Bulldog – A fast but fragile glass cannon with powerful laser attacks and high DPM, but much lower HP.
Arrowhead – A tanky missile ship with high HP and larger size, but slower movement, lower DPM, and weaker dash regeneration.

🧨 13 additional secondary and special weapons to create your build

7 secondary and 6 special weapons, each with unique visuals and mechanics including rail gun, missiles, homing missiles, arc gun, defend turrets, mines, blast waves, and more.

⚙️ Temporary level upgrades and permanent upgrades

Dock serve as upgrade hub, with each upgrade represented by a base building. You can upgrade your ship HP, primary weapon damage, dash regeneration, temporary upgrade (boost) time limits, continual reload and more.

Some of the upgrades can also be unlocked through optional side missions with their own unique enemy challenges.

👾 11 unique boss fights

Each boss has distinct mechanics, plus a variety of mini-bosses like various mantis battleships, space stations, and enemy convoys.

📘 A sci-fi story

Fully voiced animated comic cutscenes (with subtitles), text-based briefing dialogues and in-game dialogue during missions.

As you might know, we're a small indie studio with limited resources, and unfortunately, we can't afford professional translations into all the languages we'd love to support. But we really want our game to be accessible to as many players as possible around the globe.

New Demo & Pre-release Trailer

Hey everyone!

We’ve got some great news for you!

First and foremost, we’ve just released a brand-new demo here on Steam. Compared to the old one, this updated demo includes a ton of new features and improvements, and truly represents where the game is at before release. Here’s a quick rundown of the main additions:

Scaled-Up Player Ships for better visibility and improved gameplay
Enhanced Visuals for all weapons and their upgrades
More Weapon Upgrades available in docks
All-New, Larger Explosions and other visual effects
New Parallax Scrolling Effect that helps reduce motion sickness
Automatic Switching between keyboard/mouse and gamepad controls at any point in the game (no menu visit required)
New “Snakes Hole” Level featuring a brand-new type of “Snake” enemies
New Snake Boss Fight
Boss Re-Spawn Functionality with the option to choose a temporary boost if you die mid-fight
Revamped Defense Missions
New Player HP + Dash Energy UI
Overall Polish and UI Improvements throughout the game and in the hangar
And a lot more...

These are just some of the highlights—there’s so much new content and polish that it’s hard to list everything!

Map Icons

Icon for player is a plus Icon for gate is a gray circle Icon for special objective is a gray-blue circle with a plus These are hard to tell apart when you're in battle. It's not that you can't do it, they are far closer than it needs to be and it is easy to make a mistake. I recommend switching one to much different shapes and colors. Like one to a different color triangle, one to a different color square...something to avoid such similar icons....

This game is clearly a labor of love—with tight gameplay, a super cool soundtrack, charming colorful pixel art, and projectiles flying in all directions. What more could you possibly ask for?
Edit: Oh and I almost forgot - it plays great on the Steam Deck.

YES! It is exactly what I was hoping for -- a furious twin-stick shoot 'em up with big colorful explosions set in the dark depths of outer space. The controls are responsive and re-bindable, which I've found myself doing more than once trying to decide which of the four main buttons go where (for now I've settled on RT for main shot, LT for secondary shot, LB for special weapon, and L3 for turbo).

The shooting action is quality as the enemy variety is wide ranging from little pip squeak attack ships to massive, snake-like monsters towing a whole bunch of enemies behind him like some mechanized space snake. You need different strategies for different enemies, no sloppy one-size-fits-all combat here. The boss sections are downright bullet hell.

There's a fairly robust upgrade system but thankfully not *too* robust as I hate when good action games get bogged down by convoluted upgrade systems.

The only downside here is the music is generic. It works when the soundtrack is minimal space synths, but generally it's fake-sounding guitar rock and a bit annoying after a while. It seems like everyone is liking the music except me. Oh well.

A winner! 8.5/10

How is this game only $10? Seriously, I've been waiting for this to come out forever since I played the original demo. I'm pleasantly surprised by the low price!

Cool twin-stick bullet hell with really nice pixel art. The gameplay is smooth and polished, and it always keeps you on your toes. The difficulty ramps up nicely, and unlocking new weapons and upgrades kept me hooked. I also love the option to choose between different fighters and experiment with different weapon setups. It really lets you tailor your build to your playstyle.

So far, I've managed to clear the first chapter, and I’ll be definitely playing more.
