Can the game be played in windowed mode or full screen only?

I'm thinking about trying this game. Seems to be unique and interesting. BUT, reviews/posts say that it IS BUGGY a lot. So, I'm afraid to waste my time/money, here. So, I'd like some opinions on HOW BAD the bugs really are. Would you still recommend this, despite the bugs? Thanks for your help/replies! :-)...
