Can I play this with just a mouse and no keyboard?

I've maxxed out pretty much everything - all maxxable upgrades plus 50 water, oil, and cargo cars, and I still can't seem to find the core. Nothing seems to change after I hit 25km deep, and I've been as deep as 105km. Just how deep is this core that we are supposed to pierce?...

Anytime I click the Nitrogen button in the lower left, the game crashes.

Does anyone know what the turbine cars do?
