Can I skip the first Dawn of War? Or will the story be too confusing?
I have a 2160p monitor and I am reading that that game will have issues at that resolution. If I were to jump into DoW2 would the story make sense?

he's not going to understand what Tarkus and Avitus mean when they mention the Kronus Campaign if he skips Dark Crusade or when Cyrus talks about how Kaurava was a massacre if he skips Soulstorm or what Gabriel Angelos means when he mentions about releasing a demon from it's prison if he doesn't play the Original

There will be no serious plot lost, however I do recomend them as great games besides Soul Storm, If you can figure out a work around for the moniter I say it's well woth it.

I recommend playing them, but regarding your resolution problem. Aslong as you don't plan on playing DoW I multiplayer you can replace the .exe file of DoW I (or alternativly edit a line yourself with a Hex editor) to make it it use 16:9/16:10/21:9 resolutions. Try checking out the pcgaming wiki for a more detailed description :)

You will need to patch the steam version back to version 1.3 (link to patch is in the wiki) and then just follow the instructions as listed above.

Or you could view the cutscenes on youtube - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zx4cAdAuEAQ&list=PLoaBwksU0nm8FEkhxA4b7bx6zJE4CMAjg
watching the cutscenes give no character development when you're not actually playing the damn game

I never said it did, I was simply offering an alternative that falls between playing the full game and not playing the game at all.
