Darwinia
Mouse Control Really Slow
I’ve just installed the Steam version of Darwinia and found that the mouse sensitivity is really slow. I’ve played the game before using a CD version so know this isn’t just how the game is meant to be. The mouse moves perfectly normally when navigating the options menus, choosing the garden level, or the in game task manager/program creator. But otherwise when trying to move soldiers or make them shoot etc, the response time is shocking.

I’ve seen this problem reported else where, some having suggested it’s do with having an xb360 controller attached (or other gaming device?) But I’ve not seen any solutions offered and am looking for help.

To answer my own question, setting the game to run in windowed mode seems to fix any low sensitivity problems I've had with the mouse.
I've had a similiar problem with the mouse sensitivity being too high in fullscreen but normal in windowed, the solution is described in this thread:

If you're on windows, I'm not enirely sure how you can fix that. I think you can edit the environment variables on a per-user basis in the system control panel somewhere.
I'm a Windows user. Before posting I had seen the above solution for Linux, but decided to start my own post.
Im a windows user (windows 8 pro 64bit) I would have loved a sensitivity option but I got used to the slow sensitivity after a while.
