"Verne: The Shape of Fantasy" is a pixel art narrative experience with puzzles.

pros:
The beautiful pixel art is highly detailed.
Story is interesting and the voice acting elevates it greatly! (Usually pixel art games avoid voicing.)
This indie game is a passion project and love letter to the french writer Jules Verne and has a lot of trivia about Verne's life and books.

cons:
The puzzles on the other hand are rudimentary and easy. If the story is about "imagination" maybe having an advanced point & click aspect would have benefited the gameplay and puzzles, no? Devs dropped the ball on this one..
This game is more a walking simulator and honestly has little gameplay.
Also it is quite short (disregard my 20 hours, I left it on during work and also I fell asleep).


It is nice little adventure that you can complete in 4+ hours if you want to chill.
Very easy and casual experience, nothing more. (don't get your hopes up)

It isn't a bad game if you liked Verne's books, but being really slow (gameplay and story wise) I wouldn't recommend it casually. Even the story feels dumb at the end but it ain't that bad
