If you're a fan of the exploration-y kinda RPGs that are so frustratingly rare, play Infinite Mana. It's genuinely crazy that this game is as big as it is, it's 100% worth a purchase.

Not convinced yet? The dev has a discord and like, actually listens to the community. When you're reading this, they'll have already added a new subclass system people kept asking for. They're that cool!!

Give it a go. Demo's good, game's even better.

I've been playing this game nonstop for the past uhhhh 36 hours. The first two chapters by themselves are already 20 hours worth of playtime and content. The story clearly shows a lot of love for the jrpg genre and is not afraid to show it.

My only concern is that there are some frame drops on different parts of the overworld, probably carried over as a result of the limitations of the engine used in the game. However, the game developer does listen to concerns and would often do their best to polish the game's issues as best as they could.

I just love this game so much man and I am having a blast. However, do note that you are definitely going to be doing a lot of reading and this game is the equivalent of a slowburn of a long journey. So if you don't like much reading then this might not be the game for you.

I'll prolly edit this review more later while I continue the game but check out the demo if yoy're still on the fence about it! The demo is long and will give you a good idea for how the story and the game itself will play out!

Now, this is a game which is going to take TIME, ok?

So knowing that, take the time you need to explore. The monsters will be there. The sidequests and main quests will be there. You can go back to things you missed. You can pet the dog. Cook the food. Craft the things. Feel the half-cozy.

This isn't quite a full cozy rpg because of the things going on that imply a bit of dimensional exploration horror, "why is the empire doing that", "I'm pretty sure that's racist", and "what the hey did that guy get chucked down a mountain". To say nothing of the actions of your party and main character in particular should you choose to play them that way. Expect that what goes around will come around.

The systems will take a bit for you to wrap your head around, and that is also ok. Once a job class (not the word but the one that is coming to mind right now) is earned you have it forever and can develop whenever you want. It took me a long time to learn how to level the skills of the job class, and that's on me. I'd say its easier to develop classes here than it is in Octopath I, as it isn't strictly dependent on character levels per se. It isn't Final Fantasy V's subjob system but it doesn't need to be as there are several nonidentical but overlapping abilities.

I am impressed with how the graphics take advantage of the systems switching. Older gamers like myself may recognize those older system styles and how to work within their confines innately.

Now it is true that there are some graphical issues at the time of this writing that still need some working out. The dev is doing their best to work on it and several have been fixed or have workarounds already.

Final verdict: this is a real gem here, and I've been enjoying my time within this world.
