Far Cry

Far Cry

Worst kill joys so far (spoilers)
- rocket launchers homing at you from so far that enemy is the size of (sniper) scope max zoom dot, nothing like a rocket homing on your face while watching it coming through a scope ...
- If you have to make an NPC to behave like a headless chicken then at least make it unkillable.
- they guy who invented the chopper mini-boss sequence at the boat should be shot... repeatedly ...
- make that for super mutant guys as well
- rocket launcher, could that thing be any worse and wimpy then it already is, I mean really ?
- vehicles and their physics, nuff said ...

hints & rants:
you need to hit the chopper boss at least 8 times with your Super CrappyMK1 bazooka and don't forget to lead (heavily) because you know it's a catapult and not a homing anti-air missile you know .... jesus
Oh and did I mentioned that the event is also timed just to make it more worse because you know why not and let's make them do that 15 times in a row because we have no clue on how to actually play test our games ?
Oh and let's be extra skimpy with armours and med packs while we're at it.

I'm quite sure I'll have more once the game is done.

The biggest issue with the game is the checkpoint saving system.

The issues you've listed can be fixed by gitting gud.
No, but seriously, the game is really hard and it takes requires patience and skill, something that modern shooters don't.

Wait a minute. The chopper you're speaking of was a mini-boss? I see plenty of those in the rest of the game. Actually, all you need to get rid of them is to kill the merc shooting you with the mounted rev gun and that's about it.
It's incredible how good those mercs are at aiming with the rocket launchers and snipers right? Too bad they don't have the brain to use that firepower. Same goes for the mutants, as long as you stay away from them, it's relatively safe.

Playing the game on challenging and I'm not really disappointed... yet.

I play the game with the FCAM mod that has quick saving as a hotkey, but the problem with checkpoint system is that the vast majority of players are never told of quick saving at all, forcing them to replay tedious and hard parts of the game over and over. I could have forgiven the lack of QS if the checkpoints weren't so poorly placed.

As for the chopper mini-boss, you will face it later on in the game. The other choppers are as you said, easy to get rid of.

Well I can deal with the rest but that chopper thing just felt so incredibly stupid and pointless.

I loved this game, to date its the only Farcry worth playing in my opinion..

I have played all up to 3 and they are bad compared to this Gem.

After Farcry 1 switch to Crysis and never look back.

Biggest killjoy for me: my game turned into Grass Simulator the second time I launched it.

Multiple times. I'm sick of being accused as "a pirate" because of the mouse icon, so I'll just point out that I have on my artwork library proof of my GOG purchase. Anyway, yeah. This ♥♥♥♥'s better than grass simulator.

Welp, problem solved. Just needed compatibility mode for Windows XP SP3.

Now, a killjoy: that one guy right next to the door so that as soon as you open it... "HEY ITS YOU!" Dead.

My ass was grass.
