No, but seriously, the game is really hard and it takes requires patience and skill, something that modern shooters don't.
It's incredible how good those mercs are at aiming with the rocket launchers and snipers right? Too bad they don't have the brain to use that firepower. Same goes for the mutants, as long as you stay away from them, it's relatively safe.
Playing the game on challenging and I'm not really disappointed... yet.

As for the chopper mini-boss, you will face it later on in the game. The other choppers are as you said, easy to get rid of.
I have played all up to 3 and they are bad compared to this Gem.
After Farcry 1 switch to Crysis and never look back.
