Try getting a new pc that might work
R u 4 real
!!!!
No S**T Sherlock
OK so ive tried running AA3 without starting steam and it started up but it did ask me to start Steam! but as soon as i did it crashed.
Ive done a compatability test and run as if under windows 7 and it still crashes. but only when steam is started. I dont think the prob is a win 8 issue . and never being a fan of Steam (putting difference aside) it still does'nt bloody work.

Right click your game in steam and have it check your files since it's both op systems. Maybe you have anti virus or something mangling it?
compatability mode ok. no viruses firewall permissions granted to steam and aa3, really bugging the crap outta me now!
If I start AA3 straight from the .exe it starts but asks me to start steam and as soon as i start steam BANG!!! it crashes!
OH and no probs running any other game through steam.
You need to find steam.exe and run in capable mode with window 7. Just steam tho. I know sonmething happen to me aswell.
Steam seems to like to cause issues. I wish AA never went to Steam. I know before you could download it from other websites as a standalone, but that was before I had a computer to even support it. THis is my first game I've used with Steam, but I had a friend who bought Sniper on disk, and it required Steam to play! Stupid. Why would you need Steam when you have a disc? Also seems that you got to be online to play completely solo player games unless you put Steam into offline mode and that caused some issues.
cheers guys
