Validate the integrity of the game cache.

Right Click Killing Floor in library, go settings or properties, one of the options it gives you when you right click and find... I can't really remember. Just explore everything until it says 'verify the integrity of game cache'

Google 'Verify integrity of game cache Steam', or browse other steam forums for it.

It should work...

How about 5 seconds to help someone else since you got help? Post the fixes you tried and what seemed to help you so others could benefit.

I just deleted Killingfloor.ini
Steam/steamapps/common/killingfloor/system/killingfloor.ini
However, the file, Killingfloor.ini, is shown just as KillingFloor, in a Configuration settings file.
You can double check to see im right by right clicking the file.
Trust me, it works.

It is in the guide. To make it easier the guide tells you to delete the Killing Floor System folder which includes the killing floor ini and the user ini because either might be the problem. You also need to verify your game cache after deleting the folder (or file).

Glad it fixed it for you, enjoy killng some zeds. Remeber the guide for future issues.

Everytime I start up killing floor this happens.

Build UT2004_Build_[2004-11-11_10.48]

OS: Windows NT 6.2 (Build: 9200)
CPU: GenuineIntel PentiumPro-class processor @ 2396 MHz with 3979MB RAM
Video: Intel(R) HD Graphics (2828)

Error setting display mode: No acceptable display modes found (D3D_OK). Please delete your KillingFloor.ini file if this error prevents you from starting the game.

History: UD3D9RenderDevice::UnSetRes <- FindBestMatchingMode <- UD3D9RenderDevice::SetRes <- UWindowsViewport::TryRenderDevice <- UWindowsViewport::OpenWindow <- UGameEngine::Init <- InitEngine <- FMallocWindows::Free

Already tried deleting the KillingFloor.ini file, didn't work. Restarted Steam, deleted killing floor folder, uninstalled game, reinstalled it.
