Kick Votes
Why do people play on a public server if all they do is kick out people who are joining in? I'm talking about early wave joining such as 2 and 3. I get if they want room for friends but it happens when there several spaces open.

I don't usually have a problem with that. I play on Australian servers. Leave and find another server where people do not kick? I only place kick votes if people are afk for a long period of time, and keep dying wave after wave. Or if they block the trader intentionally.

a lot of people will kick low level (usually lvl3 and under) if they are playing on suicidal or HoE. Was that the circumstance?

All level 6's for me. I just wish people would play on private/password servers if they don't want others joining.

If you are level 6 in every perk, maybe they think you will be too pro and steal all the kills? Unless your playing on suicidal/HoE?

I see you are american so I have probably not played with you, but I place kickvote on people I see isn't good enough for the difficulty I'm playing. Doesn't matter if you are level 6 or not. For example a medic using xbow on scrakes and Fleshpounds and raging them will be kicked if doing it even one more time after I tell them not to do it.

If the problem is friends playing together, then I agree with you. They should use a passworded server or at least ask you to leave nicely first.

often the server will show you as level 0 until you ready yourself and enter the game

but it is annoying when people go on public servers and kick/ban everyone, instead of just hosting a passworded game or something

I was kicked on normal diff yesterday XD

Probably because they afraid i'll rake all the kill, even after i spawn as medic. XD

Hosted my own game a while back, two random people joined and tried to kick me, but couldn't since I created a listen server :P

Sometimes people kick you if you aren't using an appropriate perk. A group of berserkers and medics won't want a demo even if you're level six. A camping group won't want a berserker that just runs around in front of them. Or on his own, for that matter. Sometimes the game shows you as a level zero random perk for quite a long time, which can get you kicked it. Sometimes people are just stupid.

Some people hijack a public server and don't want other people joining so they abuse the vote kick system, its annoying but it happens. Either, make your own game or rent your own server and put a password on it.

I joined a game as zerk the other day and was threatened by the admin.
He and the 3 others wanted to camp whilst me and a fellow zerker were happier to run around. We both ended up on top of the kill count list so were definitely doing a reasonable job.
Anyways, because he and the others kept dieing he blamed us for wandering off protesting that we were not doing our jobs. I was completely flabbergasted by this given our considerable contributions.
Sure we could have stayed, tried to kill scrakes only to have someone else rage them and get us killed but we thought of our own self preservation and decided not to risk it.
In the end this Admin said "Change class or be kicked!"
So we both quit and he and the rest of the team would have undoubtedly been wiped in the next wave.
Did he go too far telling us to change class? I think so? What do you think?
If its a public server I should have the right to play as any class I like and not be dictated to just because its not working out for them.

When we people accept that if they die it is their fault alone?

To be fair, for each player there are more zeds with higher health. Killing more zeds is no inidication of success. You could kill 1000 clots while they killed 50 Flesh Pounds.

If the admin of a server is playing and requests you camp or play a class, do it. Would you go to someone's home and start playing the stero when they said please be quiet I want to watch TV? They pay for the server or at least were put in charge by the person who pays for it. If they are being dbags or you don't like the rules, leave. Their sever, their rules.

If you join a game after others are playing, even if they aren't admin, and they were all camping, its kind of dbaggy to insist you play your style. Coop survival not every man for himself.

Imagine the opposite, You and the other guy are kiting zerkers and a new guy joins and insists on camping , raging FPs and ruining your kite path. Uncool. Coop survival, focus on teh first word and the second word is much easier for the whole team.

Ok, fine. I will just leave then. My pc, my bandwidth that I am paying for, my rules.

Coop at the difficulty I play at (SUI/HOE) requires that ALL team members have a basic understanding of how to keep zeds from raging and never shooting a (big) zed that is being melee'd.
Spamming a big zed with lots of guns isnt a reliable tactic and often leads to team wipes. But this tactic is employed very frequently by campers everywhere. I don't see this as very cooperative and if other players actions can jeopardize my health then I wont be sticking around.

Then he will likely take the hit and die before I get there. So he will only do it once and hopefully learn something from it.
I will alter my kite path to steer well clear of him and any campers.

But to get this discussion back on topic,
Abuse of the kick vote system should not be tolerated and any admin who runs a public server should set a good example or find themselves being reported/banned themselves.
There are a few good reasons to kick vote someone but many more bad ones. I try to avoid voting entirely and let bad players meet their inevitable fate.

Me and my friends would probably have asked you to leave or kick you in that game you are refering to. Not because you didn't do your share, but because a lone zerker is making it boring for the camping team that actually play for the challenge. I want loads of action and often choose spots that are really hard to get that. If the zerker doesn't listen to us when asking him/her to change perk och stick with the team in this situation a kick is well deserved.

Also, for all the zerkers playing ALONE out there. Play solo and use ♥♥♥♥♥ players if you want more of a challenge.
