***THIS IS A MUST HAVE TITLE***


This game is AMAZING!!! The dev is on top of everything and answers questions super fast! One can tell they are very passionate about their creation. I am 30 hrs deep and taking it slow to enjoy every minute on this run. The music is phenomenal, the art/graphics/character/enemy/level design are ALL top notch. There are a few glitches here and there but that's to be expected on early release. The story is great. It has a great flow, TOTALLY Metroid-esk, (and I'm a Metroid JUNKIE). I've played just about every MetroidVania out there and this one is already at the top of my chart. I look forward to the full release and pray it comes to PS5 as well. I will absolutely buy it again to support DDD!!!
The only CON I must bring up is that it may be too difficult for some. I would also suggest NOT playing on a docked Steamdeck with a PS5 controller. The Steamdeck dock seems awful, imho, and it makes platformers SO laggy that I've had to return SO many games, as they were unplayable with the docked deck. (I wonder if Steam will ever fix this issue. I am ethernet wired, so it's not due to wifi lag, besides, my wifi is about 1ft away from my deck. That's another story for another time. I'm here to praise the AWESOMENESS that is BIOGUN.
I'm going to give it a run on my PC to see how much better it is on here. (So glad I bought the most expensive Steamdeck),...

Just started playing, and this has all the elements of a great metroidvania. Can't wait to explore some more.

This is a pretty decent metroidvania with a very unique premise. Inside the body of a dog trying to fight a virus, each organ is a map region, and fast travel has you being sucked into a needle and injected into another part of the body. It's a very clever execution, and the map is sizable with upgrades being available to reveal the location of missed items. The combat is pretty solid, aim and shoot with mouse while moving with keyboard. Boss fights are fairly well done and some can get pretty intense and hectic. The soundtrack to this game is also quite good in my opinion, so shoutouts to the composer.

This review being written in the early access version of the game, it took me over 11 hours to defeat the final boss (which is beaten in a way you have not seen before). Even after those 11 hours, there were still a lot of marked collectables on my map. At the time of writing this, there are a bunch of areas that are closed off, so post launch the amount of content should increase even more. Only real issue is that the early access version of the game is having some performance degrade over time while playing, which can be cleaned up by restarting the game. If this is resolved at official launch, this is game is a solid addition to a MV enjoyer's game library.
