GTA 1 Music missing

There is just no music at all. Everything else works fine, but the menu music and the car radio are not present.

There is no music in my gta neither. We should write to steam technical support

the music files from the steam release are named wrong, thats why game can't play the right ones.
look here http://gtamp.com/gta1/ and get the gtafixer.
Place the fixer in your gta directory and launch it, music files will be renamed to the correct names and should work now ingame.

It can be done manually. What GTAFixer does, is it renames track8 to track 10, track10 to track9, and track9 to track8.

I wasn't getting any music myself, and police radio plays on foot instead of street sounds. so i renamed the listed files, and that indeed solves it, so if you dont wanna run GTAFixer, just do that.
