I am able to fix & enhance games, and I'm glad to have the classics, even some messy modern ones, available in my collection serving as digital backup as long as steam exists.
Remember that you have to take care of a lot of classics yourself because they are not intended to run on modern operating systems. If you are able to fix the game you will also get an idea on how to install other mods. So doing it yourself pays off in the long run.
If you want to fix the game browse pcgamingwiki. Covers a lot more than some random steam guide.
