What would happen if I Modded the Steam Version of Vice City?
I want to mod the steam version of vice city but I have had people telling me mixed things, can you mod the steam version of vice city and if so what are the risks if any? Please tell me anything else that could help or you think I should know. Cheers

How many threads are you going to create and how many threads are you going to go into asking the same question?

First look to the community hub of the game. If you can find anything that says about mod or dlc then it's possible to do such. If not, and you find a mod or some dlc else where you run into problems when steam issues an update and the game suddenly crashes. Your left with a paid version of a game you tried to mod and now won’t even completely remove/delete/uninstall. Steam does not say you can’t mod it yourself but they sure don’t say if you do it will work. Either do rockstar for that matter. Remember where you got the mod or dlc. It could just be a vessel for a bug or virus.

Some mods will work with steam's version while others will crash your game.

Is there a way to know which ones will and won't? If not should I backup the game and try them?

The mod should have a readme though its advisable to backup your game files before trying it out
