This game is the natural evolution of the Steel Battalion series and shows a lot of promise. There are several VR mech games but this is the only one which I feel actually lets you play from the cockpit. Most attempts at this kind of game have just come off as a standard VR FPS with a few more HUD elements but Iron Rebellion is the mech game that other titles left me longing for. There is a good variety of mech and weapon types.

The game is still undergoing active development and seems close to the official 1.0 launch, members of the community discord carry out weekly scheduled play tests and the official development road map can be found here: https://coda.io/@gameir/iron-rebellion-road-map

However, the maps can feel very hard to navigate. It's hard to tell where exactly the team spawns are and I would struggle to find any objective areas if they were not constanlty marked on my HUD. I think this could be fixed by creating unique and easily identifiable landmarks across the maps.
