Regretting this game.
No matter how many times I play, how many items I unlock, all it takes is one bad room, game over. This game is too insanely hard. I get that's the "appeal" of it is that's it's challenging, but it's just too much. Not worth the money unless you just enjoying dying constantly with maybe a 10% chance to clear a run.

Yeh but when that 10% chance comes up it feels damn good.

Just takes practice. I make it to the chest or sheol everytime I play a run and only rarely does that result in me not beating the game. Make note of things that screw you over, don't take pills, learn the time to use certain items, learn interactions, and just practice. The game is actually really easy - just takes practice.

Maybe you should trying practicing. It's not a hard game to play. You have to know what items do and how to use them.

You should try and play it without Wrath of the lamb. I already had the Platinum God, but I started with WotL. I wanted to do the golden god, so I installed DosBoss's Laucnher and played without the DLC. I cleared TBoI and resetted my Steam achievements with a program. This game is easy without WotL. I am missing 2 achievements for the golden god, the Halo (I NEVER get the Bible) and the Shears (I haven't died 100 times. I think I died about 40 times).

It is hard and is getting harder and harder. Be patient!

WotL, and TBoI in general- I find require a learning curve. As you play more you will get better and know what the items do. After a while, you will make this game your b***h (pardon my French).

Practice, my first month I had a score of 81 deaths to 1 mom kills. It gets easier the more you play trust me.

Main thing that screws me up is the terrible slowdown, even in 640x480 resolution and in low graphical settings :/

even without i alway use pills , it make the game even more random and fun ! and anyway once you use 1 bad pills you see what it does next so you never use it again unless you can revert it to good pills when you low life etc and Negative pill effects have an 80% effect of their positive counterparts (e.g. Speed Up increases speed by 30% while Speed Down decreases speed by 24%)

The game takes both practise and luck, yes. This game fits into that genre of "really addictive, but ultimately boring," which usually I don't like... BUT, with this game, I actually DID have a lot of fun. Eventually, I grew pretty tired of it, but not before playing over 80 hours! Never have I played such a simple game for so long. Anyway, for a few bucks, I don't see why anyone should regret it. It's a matter of taste though...
just try and try again, and it's fun just to die with a graet run. you want a hard game? thats free? download splunkey.
