how to use this item?

What do the items i pick up that go to the top left corner of the screen do/ how do we use them? (eg: Ace of Spades, Cancer...)

They're passive and cannot be used directly (like how some items can be used pushing space bar) They work on their own

It's a trinket, and trinket's are passive effects with the main difference being that you can only have one trinket, so once you switch out with another trinket you won't have its effects anymore.

Ace of Spades would increase the likelyhood of a card drop. Cancer increases the max tear rate cap.
