Game is fun for about 3 hours then you spend the rest trying to figure out your life in the very beginning, finally get some items going and flowing then all of sudden you hit a wall. The enemies from the area I just came from were easier than this? Turns out your items are region locked making ALL gameplay from each little area on the map nullified as soon as you leave. I am all for advocating for this game but it NEEDS more content. DO NOT buy this game and just wait for Cube world Omega. Its our only hope....

Devs made a good base game in alpha and then came back and ruined it at the point that is not playable right now, this is from wharever point of view you want to see it, a scam.

(TL;DR leave your expectations at the door and you'll probably have a good time.)

I was a follower of this game back when it first launched in alpha. I did the whole refresh-the-website-until-sales-opened thing and bought it that way, played a bunch and then sort of resigned myself to the idea that it was dead. I was surprised and skeptical when it came to steam, but I still had my login from their website and so I got my steam key and loaded it up.
Was it different than it had been? Yes. Were a lot of features i had expected for whatever reason missing? Yeah. And for my first few hours of the game, once I understood the loop, was I frustrated? Yep, totally. But I kept playing, and had a great time? On paper the loop of having to re-find key exploration abilities in each area is a pain, but I found it extended the replayability a lot. As I advanced I felt powerful, but never overpowered. There was always a threat somewhere that was a bit beyond me, something to work towards.

It is not everyone's perfect craft survival build adventure whatever, and the years of quiet left a lot of room for people to build their expectations in that direction. Nothing will be that game for everyone. It's an impossible goal. But I gave Cube World a chance and I had a good time with it, which is all I ever wanted in the first place.
