Let me know what they reply. If they have a solution that would be great but if they don't we'll need to figure out what to do next. Hopefully we'll get the games working again one way or another :)
On the Shadowgrounds Steam forum, user Xandr has tracked down a workaround. Read solution below, get your terminal.app ready, and GAME ON.
Example below is for original Shadowgrounds; for Survivor, the command is—
Really appreciate the work-around.
In the meantime, holler at the dev a little? Unno.
Resolving takes a bit time because of a technical issue of sorts. The Mac ports of the Shadowgrounds games were done by a partner company and we don't actually have the sources. So unfortunately it's unlikely there will be a patch to fix this. We'll see if it's possible to accomplish this.
We appreciate this new information about the issue though and the fact you shared your solution for it.
Cheers.
Neither work. Shadowground just crashes from the launcher. Shadowgrounds Survivor launches then hangs with a black screen.
Am I the only person who thinks it unreasonable that a third party provides a workround thats only good for one level? And the game dev response is 'unlikely we can fix this'.
How about you let us all know when your game actually works, like we paid you for it to do.
