The same happened with me. My friend (nickname from steam : Luankc) asked me to perform the following test :
1st : Stop downloading the update guardians , access the game and check the amount of gold available
2nd : Back download and let make the update
3rd : Check that decreased the value.
For my tests , I lost 160000 gold . (As pictures on the links below) .
Before the update :

I performed the update on today's date , at 20:00 (time of Brazil) .
I have the following DLCs :
The Warrior Bundle
Smaug 's Treasure
The Hobbit Dwarves Bundle
I did some more tests as:
Exit and re-enter the game. - Do not resolved
Play another game and try again after playing the Guardians - I played Dayz SA , and after I tried to play the Guardians , but with the same problem .
I hope that this information can be useful for quick resolution team.
We enjoyed playing Guardians, and we have some suggestions for improvement beyond corrective and are willing to help pinpoint which are required or suggested .

Should we login and hope the patch does not delete coin, then come here to say either way?
Since my last time playing was before the patch, its hard to decide if I should be a test subject before I know what can or will be done to fix it.

Also, since then, I haven't lost any more gold. :)
In the most recent update to the game an issue with the Smaug’s Treasure DLC came to light resulting in some community members having the amount of 160,000 gold deducted from their account. We have now addressed that issue. To make sure that all players have their gold balance restored and to apologize for the inconvenience we are awarding all current community members that have played before 01/07/14 a sum of 300K gold. The 300K will be added to your current total. Please keep in mind, this fix may take a few hours to populate.
