1000% agree on quicksave, trying to get through HELLGATE is just crazy and it is because you need to get the timing right many times in a row.
Even better, the drop is actually much smaller than a unit of space, so you can headbutt one of the corners and not even need to move at all.
In most cases there's not really any compelling reason to block it anyway. Just watch the rhythm for an opening and go, same as every other platformer. IIRC Hellgate has an unusually tricky pair of them, and Extreme Temperature is Extreme Temperature, but that's about it.
EDIT: Just loaded it up and played through TNT4U again. I'm guessing the main contention is the dynamite sequence at the very end? You don't even have to run into the room except to slip into the exit after everything's blown up. Just make sure you have wood left over (I had about 7 because I didn't burn the stuff at the top) and put some on the left and right of the bottom wood block. It chains across the whole thing. Unless you're going for a gold star I'm not even certain you need to do the rigamarole at the bottom at all.
no,in THN4U im talking about the sequence before the dynamite. Where theres a lava drop that constantly falls and you have to go up and down to get some blocks to build a staircase
