SPAZ 2 actually uses a different engine and scripting language than SPAZ 1 so the reuse of code and art is pretty much 0. We did manage to harvest some of the old SPAZ 1 sounds but aside from that everything is built from the ground up.
Short version: SPAZ 2 will support joypad right out of the box (it was one of the first things we did since we failed to make it work for SPAZ 1) But for SPAZ 1 it won't work with how the engines are implemented. It is possible to use some 3rd party programs to make it sort of work , but it will never feel right due to the engines.
oh well dissapointed no joypad for spaz 1 then,i'll guess i'll have to wait for spaz 2.
