Too much crafting stations?
I think they've overdone with unnecessary complications to receive different furniture.

Its fun to have some creativity when your building. Not being forced to use the same old wood tables all the time.

Question isn't about furniture, it's about CRAFTING STATIONS like glass kiln, honey-whateverer, flesh cloning vaat etc. You haven't found it - you can't craft different stuff. That's restrictive imo.

And how is this not congruent with anything else you do in the game? It's not like it's hard to make or find these things. It's also not like any of these things are necessary to play the game.

You're missing the OP's point. The Heavy Work Bench for example crafts exactly one block: the stone slab. Why bother creating an entirely different table just for that? Just merge it into one of the existing crafting stations.

Likewise, the ordinary workbench has already had full sets of furniture added to it, but for some reason we need specialized ones for other types? Why not add a Pumpkin Carving Station, Mushroom Molder, or Cactus Manipulator too?

Its one thing to require some effort to unlock these new recipes, but the need to stand on top of one of many different crafting stations is tedious. Why do you think people packed their crafting stations into one ugly lump in the corner of their bases? So they could stand in one spot and use them all without moving. Now thats not possible.

A better solution would have been to allow crafting stations to be wired up to a master Crafting Table, so that interacting with the Crafting Table uses every station thats wired up. Then you could actually arrange the crafting stations to look NICE, and it wouldn't matter how many there are.

I didn't know people did that. That must be one ugly room.

Personally I hate going into the crafting menu and there's a million things to scroll through. If moving to the side to access the thing you want is such a chore, well, sorry. I didn't even realize people had this issue. #firstworldproblems

I found it really annoying as well when they implemented the Great Crafting Schism, mostly because my house was already jam-packed full of stuff and now I have to find new places to squeeze in crafting stations that aren't even necessary. It wouldn't be half as bad if it weren't for the fact that some of them don't really fit any of the NPCs' themes, which I like to use when decorating their rooms; I mean, I guess something like a Honey Station could go in the Witch Doctor's room, since he only spawns after killing Queen Bee (though even that's a stretch), but a Skyware Station? Where do I put that?

I put the Sky Mill on a nearby floating island. How often am I realistically going to use that, anyway?

As if anyone cares about how often you're going to use that. It's all about those stations that delay the moment when you can do this.

For your type devs added crafting list button.

it IS kind of annoying, but also totally optional.

Well, aren't we rude. :) Well, clearly no one cares what you want either, or there wouldn't be so many crafting stations. I'm so sorry I'm fine with that and you aren't.

That's actually what I'm talking about. It's still massive screen clutter depending on what's in your inventory.

You're crafting. Who cares how much "screen clutter" it is? You don't need to see anything else. And it's TWO CLICKS to getting what you want.

EDIT:
Your crafting.

*facepalm*

Aesthetics are important in game UIs. Especially since I'm going to be seeing that screen a lot. Comparatively speaking, how often do people use a Living Loom? Priorities, people ...

Aesthetics are GREATLY less less priority than functionality.

Would you prefer the console version that blocks out the entire screen?

I wouldn't say that, but functionality isn't impacted regardless, so why bring it up? Did this suddenly become an issue as well and no one told me?

Well if I don't like how cluttered it can be now, why would I prefer it if it was worse? What the hell are you even going on about? Is this another bit like the other thread, where you attitude is just "here's my personal experience, I can't understand how anyone else could possibly disagree"? Because I have no idea what your point is here ...

My point is it's way better than you make it out to be. And there really isn't a way around it unless you like scrolling through dozens of recipes one at a time.
