Just one question: Can you beat Skeletron Prime consistently, yes or no?
How is he supposed to get into the Post-Plantera dungeon when he can't even fight Plantera yet?
I'd imagine there's a damn good reason for that.
The Shadowbeam Staff, the Inferno Fork, and the Spectre Staff drop from Necromancers, Diabolists, and Ragged Casters, respectively. None of these enemies will spawn in the Dungeon until after Plantera is has been beaten at least once.
Further, there are other weapons now that completely outclass any of the Post-Plantera dungeon weapons, chief amongst them being the Flairon, the Bubble Gun, the Blizzard Staff, the Razorpine, and the Razorblade Typhoon.
The three Mech bosses all recieved an enormous buff in 1.2.3, mostly due to complaints that the 1.2 update had made them much easier than they should've been. The Destroyer, for example, had his total HP reduced from 80,000 to 60,000, and now it's gone back up to what it was before. However, his other stats have gotten buffed compared to where they were just before the 1.2 update, which makes it a much harder fight than veterans to the game will remember.
Also set up a bunch of Heart Lanterns, Campfires, and layers of Wooden Platforms. The regen you get should help to mitigate the damage you take, and the Wooden Platforms will give you more vertical mobility, so you can dodge more easily.
It seems that my advise is outdated, and for that I apologize. I haven't done a new playthrough since he was buffed, so I've only fought him with my end-game gear. I merely assumed that he would be easy enough to fight with Hallowed gear...
If you ask me, the Destroyer and the other two Mech Bosses desperately needed that buff. Might even go so far as to say that the Destroyer needs another one.
