VC Redist

Hello , guys i click on Play button and this msg appears :
"performing first time setup..."
"Installing : Microsoft VC Redist Package (step 1 of 1)"
i let him 15min and nothing happens, i have the lattest vc redist so its not problem about my pc. what to do?

in max 2 weeks ill aquire new pc and ill install new windows, hope it works then

It happens to me too. It works fine on OSX but on Win7 it never starts up.

i got new pc and win8 and i dont have the problem with vc redist anymore but game isnt working , it closes and strange error appear and cant be played:(

So I was looking around and the reason it wasn't working for me was because I had uninstalled openal32.dll. Looking through the forums on Steam for another game someone posted this link to download it again if you don't have it. I installed it and the game loads up for me now with no problems. Mine just started this this morning. Was running fine on Windows 7 x64 last night.

everytime I paly this game it does the reinstall of VCDist. Works once it's done it (win 7 x64) but it's annoying to havve it happening eachtime I play

A lot of my Steam games do that for me for some reason. :/

Same. I keep getting a runtime error.

Once the game runs fine, you can safely delete install.vdf from the game directory C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Critical Mass. This will save you from the repeating first time setup.
