A New Beginning - Final Cut
Hippies need to take an astronomy class.
After playing the game for a few minutes it made me alugh so hard I had to just stop for the day.

If you know anything about astronomy or biology you probably know that the earth is protected by its atmosphere and magnetic field from solar flares.

Here is the secret: It seems some do not understand the word “atmosphere” = “greenhouse gases.”

Yes. That means greenhouse gases are a good thing.

Let me make this clear: If we didn’t have greenhouse gases we would not have an atmosphere and thus we would be exposed to the extremes of space and all die. Gases have less mass then solids or liquids thus through the magic of gravity gases float out around the heavier mass Earth making a nice atmosphere, our own personal bubble.

We could theoretically all die from having too much of an atmosphere, making the environment not suited for humans, thus die. BUT NOT FROM A SOLAR FLARE STUPIDZ. Greenhouse gases do NOT equal solar flares. THE COMPLETE OPPOSITE.

That is all.

Not as much protection as you think. There are gaps in the field lines that allow charged particles to travel down into the lower parts of the atmosphere. A significantly large CME (not solar flare, a flare is just a energy release/brightening of the corona) is quite capable of weakening or even removing (temporarily) our magnetosphere.

I think the word you were looking for there was dense. Gases are less dense than solids or liquids. 50g of water = 50g of ice = 50g of water vapor.

Otherwise you are quite correct, the surface temp of a black body radiator the size of the earth getting heated by our sun at 1AU is about 279K (42 F), where as the actual average temp on earth is about 15C (59 F). If you want to see what happens with to much of an atmosphere, just look at Venus.
Don't wanna be too Uranus, but Astronomy is more observation of plannetary bodies, Astrophysics is the math of the univerise,For some reason Planetary science is more related to Geology than Astronomy. Anyway..
