Can you disable the mouse aim in this game?

Just finish Shank 1 and started playing this and didn't really like how you have to aim melee attacks with the mouse, especially when you back an enemy into a corner and even though my mouse is in front of me, sometimes Shank just attacks backwards.

Is there any way to disable it? I don't have a gamepad so even though it's the proper way to play the game, it's not an option.
