8 local players problems

I have been trying to play with 8 controllers locally. Have 4 XBO and 4 XB360 controllers. The game only recognizes input from 4 of them which, no surprise, are those 4 that are visible under BigPicture's settings. However all 8 are working with Gang Beasts, Runbow and Pumle Party by turning off/unchecking "Xbox Configuration" and when available "XInput" in-game (e.g. Gang Beasts)...
