download and exract to the postal 3 folder. game now runs with no issues on Windows 8.1

yeah, all it does is bypass the drm check as its no longer valid. I didn't actually get any achievements until I used the patch. Last time I played it was when the game was broke at launch

Update: Although now the game loads, it now crashes after about 5 minutes of play, every time. The game closes and I get a "Postal 3 has stopped working" error message.

Click the following and download the zip file:

Then open the file and drop the files into the postal 3 directory on your pc, overwriting the files which are already there - then when you run the game through steam it should boot straight up

Vulcan, I had the same problem but after some tweaking of the graphics, I haven't had it force close again.
