Anyone know of a good ATC Addon?
This default one I been using for years because i thought if I got a good ATC add on my performance would drastically change. This is not the case anymore because I run FSX SE at 60 plus frames now. This ATC really is bad in terms of realistic and procedure. Thanks. I dont mind spending a good amount either. I saved up for it.

Yes you can toggle First Officer on and off in the options but - I've not used him. The manual for VoxATC is online on their site if you want to look at the detail of the features, the FO chapter is page 69.

http://voxatc.com/Content/voxATCXHelp.pdf

When flying larger aircraft, you would normally expect to have a first officer who handles radio communications when you are flying the aircraft. This function is available for IFR flights.

The first officer will now handle all radio communications. However there will be occasions when
you will need to tell the first officer to make a call. These include calling for clearance, pushback,
taxi and departure and making reports. The VoxATC panel will prompt you to tell the first officer
to do this. You tell the first officer to make the call without pressing the PTT key, as if he were
sitting next to you.

I really appreciate all the help guys n gals. One thing I barely realized was AI. I fly with no AI aircraft because I think that would affect my performance so could anyone recommend an addon AI also? I hear Addon AI takes less CPU performace impact. Id have to choose a good ATC a long with a good AI addon =) Sim Community is so helpful!

VoxATC adds and controls its own AI from outside the sim, you have to turn AI and ATC off in FSX when using VoxATC.

I have MyTraffic and Vox does pick up the traffic files and uses MyTraffic aircraft though.

Add on AI doesn't really have less of a performance impact to the default AI, well, it kind of does but that's not a reason to buy into it. It's a whole new thread really.

IceAI is a free simple to install AI traffic option as well. I have no clue if it works with other ATC programs other than the one I have used, radar contact.

I have Radar Contact 4, ProATCX and PFE but over time always gravitate back to the FSX default ATC engine.

I know you can use Multi Crew Experience with Radar Contact to give you voice control while talking with ATC. You can either give commands such as "ATC 1" and it will select the option that corresponds or if you wish talk to ATC as you would a human controller.

Heres kind of an old video of someone using Multi Crew Experience voice commands to chat with Radar Contact ATC. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rqz0D2Ryge8

there's a 7 day demo.

Look up some reviews and see which suits you best.

Thanks Morag! VoxATC is the best 60 bucks I ever spent. Talking to atc just like the real thing is totally worth it.

Heh, ye, as soon as I started using VoxATC I was wishing I'd started using it earlier. Great add on.

I had to laugh as I read about the copilot feature, he can do nothing difficult, he can do the same things as your autopilot, very useful.
If you set it to frequency controlled heading, the autopilot can do course correctures as the copilot...I also like the selling argument that multiplayer not all frequencies are supported, well, if people would actually play it instead using this addons, it would be.
