Multiverse launcher
Has anyone tried the "Multiverse launcher" for this game? It claims a lot of quality of life improvements. But the .exe they provide gets flagged by Virus Total for malware. Is anyone familiar with this? Is the code open source somewhere?

dont buy
Game freezes up , cant even load it as i get no further than the menu. The music is choppy at best. Yesterday i had to load it 3 times to play, and after 3 worlds couldnt even load it.

Not available in Europe?
For some reason, the game doesn't have a price in Europe, so it can't be purchased at the moment by European users (we can't even properly see the page).
In case anyone from E.A. reads this, is this intentional, or an error?

Has anyone ever figured out the issue with the save file disappearing. In particular I'm experiencing this on Linux using Proton.

my first ever game
my father got it for me! it was so incredibly atmospheric! from that moment on, this is what gaming meant for me i guess! such a difficult game too! i never made it past a certain level! i remember the cd even now, decades have passed.....
such a unique game! age of empires... is not like this, it feels like no other game is!
and i loved the sounds the warriors made, it was so funny to me as a kid, always made me laugh

it is second time my saving data disappear. I usually play one level a day and next day when i open was fine. but today when i ready to play, all my saving data disappear for no reason

I actually played this game during childhood when it was on Windows XP omg it looks like Steam is importing every possible early 2000s PC game onto it I hope they revive Bungies Oni and Unreal Tournament!!

Works with Windows 11 you just have to close steam, right click steam, run as administrator, then play the game. Or you could do the Multiverse launcher route talked about in other reviews/youtube and get around 200 levels instead of just the original 25.
