Has GGG made money on this yet?
If so, how profitable is this game? I wish that this f2p model would take off, but I wonder if it is sustainable. Thanks.

I hope so! I admit I've been free-loading as of yet (except for what they get from my purchases off the Steam Market which is very little) but as soon as I have some extra funds I plan on doing some in-game purchasing. But which pets do I choose?!? Choices.. choices...

Well I hope they are making enough as I'll loving this game.

I have spent like $25 on the game and have enjoyed it far more than any other $60 purchase I have made in the past year. On top of that, I have enjoyed it more than any experience I have had with my PS4 or my Xbone. Yet I cannot bring myself to spend (more) money on animations or effects. And the character slots and stash tabs are already generous. Like WTF, GGG; give me a real reason to give you my money! How about a short-timed buff to MF or experience?! I would pay for an hour buff and I don't see that as a huge advantage.

See, I would do that too but that would simply be me donating more money to them. Which after all wouldn't be that bad of a thing, I guess.

They've made a ♥♥♥♥ load of money, a small indie team can support tens of thousands of people on a bunch of servers and regular massive updates. They got a lot of their money from the supporter packs especially the closed beta ones.

Independent developers deserve our support. Andd GGG deserves it a lot - they listened to us in closed beta and they still do nowadays. Re-think yourself - and decide...

For all here wondering if they earn anything on PoE, I collected a bit of bites (wall of text follows)

New Zealand developers Grinding Gear Games have raised more than $245,000 by allowing gamers to pre-purchase in-game currency ahead of RPG Path of Exile's as-yet-unannounced launch date.

"At this stage, we can't improve the game fast enough," Wilson said. "We have attention on the game, there's a lot of players. If we can dump millions of dollars into making it amazing, that dramatically increases the chances that, in four years, it's still really big. Getting more content in sooner while people are still playing a lot is much better than having to do it the slow way.

"We'll happily sink any money that we can make into making this game bigger, faster at the moment."

Building the game up to 4 million players that we have today was a long an hard slog. We now have 50 staff and are making solid profit"

Closed beta supporter here. I think i have sunk about 80 dollars or more into the game myself. Between closed beta and open anwyay.

I actually intend to sink even more when i can. I would sink a lot more if they allowed a gift system for the cosmetics. Would buy more than a few for my friends.

Free to play games make more than pay games that do not have micro-transactions. Path of Exile is a great game and I'll support it with $ as long as they continue to turn out great content. If you like it and get enjoyment out of playing then kick in a few bucks. That's how we can support GGG.

Necros3000... Yes I agree Diablo turned out to be crap.

What the heck are you babbling on about?

PoE is awesome! between this, and Marvel Heroes I have more than enough arpg to satisfy my clickin finger. I have bought some tabs, and a supporter pack back in closed beta.

What I posted shouldn't have been that hard to comprehend.

World of Tanks has a similar NA playerbase and makes money hand over fist. WoT is pay to win though.
