Try putting everyone but cid or yang in back row. Start the fights off with Tellah casting protect on Cecil, and cecil using cover on Tellah. And then, have Cecil guard the rest of the time, and have the other two attack/Tellah use magic where needed [Coeurls, specifically]. The other two will PROBABLY hit critical health before dying, in which case Cecil auto covers them as long as he's not critical himself [heal with tellah if needed, or use items to conserve MP]. He also auto covers Tellah because of using the cover demand, and while in back row + protect + defending during his covering, even the mad ogres were only doing 1 damage to him for me.
In general I totally agree that Eblan is put way earlier in the guide than it should be considered difficulty of fights, but they ARE possible if you want to do it in this order. If you don't, just make sure you come back later and don't forget it!
Thank you for putting all the time into making them :)
I agree with Eblan being a huge difficulty curve. I had to reset some fights and hope and pray for good RNG otherwise my characters would be picked off one by one in those Monster-In-A-Box encounters.
I had a question about party members that join and leave the party throughout the game. Should I unequip those party members so I don't lose their equipment after they leave? Your FF II guide was really great with giving a heads up before going to a specific area, but I didn't see anything here about that. Are those party members unequipped automatically in this version?
@lylat And you...you're an actual godsend. I wouldn't be able to get anywhere NEAR 100% either this or FF3 without your help. I hope the FF5 guide is just as helpful.
