HOW DO YOU SAVE THE GAME

I don't know how to save the game or how I can tell if it auto saved or not. I can't even tell what level im on and I don't like redoing levels because I had to go.

You can quit whenever and the game will prompt you when you load back up if you wish to resume, then you resume at the beginning of the room you quit in

I received no such prompt I just see continue and it has tapes of the different chapters. Am I missing something?

Then you probably pressed no the first time you choose continue. In that case the tape with highest number was the level you were on. when you pick the level you can choose to skip the cutscenes.

It’s really easy to miss, but when you load a tape into the machine, it gives you the options to move left-to-right to pick segments of that level to jump back to.
