How is this proof (not being able to read Japanese)? Are there mistakes in the fansub that match the other translation?

Hey, Raze! Intermediate skill in Japanese here. The issue isn't really that there are mistakes in the fansub that are also present in Spike Chunsoft's official translation. The issue is that the fansub text and the official translation are almost exactly the same. They both appear to be accurate from what I remember of these conversations in English, but they're nearly a total match for each other. I see only a few differences between the two versions (specifically in the terms used for the constitution attribute and the word "Sourcerer" as well as one insignificant instance of kanji use versus hiragana), and I'd argue that these differences aren't at all substantial enough to explain away the similarity in how everything's been phrased. That Saheila is a dead match in both versions is especially egregious, I think, given her unique way of speaking. (It's also interesting that her name's been translated as "Shahiira" in both the fansub and the official release--I'd have thought "Saheira" or "Saheera" would've been more in line with the English pronunciation!)

Just my opinion, and I'll repeat that my skill's only intermediate! But this does strike me as a pretty blatant copy.

OP, do you have a link to the particular fansub Spike Chunsoft may have stolen from that you can send to Raze? Any other information that might establish that the fansub team's work came first or that might help Larian investigate further?
