Seal clubbing

I spotted some seals while taking a walk along the coast one day. I thought they only appeared further north, as I was in Driik territory. I thought it would be nice to get one of these floppy bags of sea bacon for my stocks, but as I approached they did the obvious and rolled into the ocean and vanished.

Could someone share some seal clubbing tactics? I tried going out on a raft, but once they were under the water, I couldn't get them back on shore.

The forums have suggested trap lines along the shore or on the rocky islets.

Pretty much what Sakura said. I've only heard people successfuly hunting them with traps.

You can also check if there's good good place to wait and hide. Even though the seals disappeared once, they still may be around, or come back then next day. Waiting, and having bow ready is also viable tactic - but it's often only one shot you can take. One lethal shot, that should be.

Heh, well they have a bit of time. My smoke house is a good distance from the coast. Took me a day and a half to get out there, and by the time I got back from all that wandering around and seal watching, three more days had passed. I'm planning a trip to set up a hunting camp. small 1x2 cabin with plenty of timber set aside for traps and such, and a fireplace.

i find loads of grey seals on the coast of drik (as long as there are inlets with skerries) and once in a while will run into the smaller ringed seals, I have never trapped a seal but always bow hunt. some days i get lucky enough to put down three seals in a day.

i once had a seal living near my house, i was in islandeer territory and the seal was not afraid of me, it even came near my door sometimes :P
