Manual save.
Hey devs, since i installed forgotten gods the game just seems to save when it wants to and i can go hours only to lose all that progress when i next load up.

Can we please get a manual save option asap as i'm getting sick of having to repeat the same thing over from time to time.

I don't have cloud save enable through steam or in-game.

Are you sure cloud saving is off in both? Because, if so, saves will be in My Documents\My Games\Grim Dawn\save.

Also try verifying your game files.

I double, triple checked and their both off and i verified my game the other day and it was fine.

It's a new game, it never was saved to the cloud, i don't like using the cloud unless i have absolutely no choice.

The game saves constantly, so I'm not sure what you are repeating.

If you mean monsters respawning and you starting in town whenever you start up the game, that is a feature of ARPGs, not an issue with saving.

No, hours of play not saving, map explored, rift gates activated, objectives completed, all gone and need doing again.

I use mods but never had this problem no matter how many different characters i have on the go using a different mod for each one, that was until i installed Forgotten Gods.

It does save, just not all the time, not any more.

Well here is my few doubts:

1. Mods no like the "Forgotten Gods" and somehow ruin the saving process;

2. Another weird Windows thingy (OneDrive maybe, if you got that one installed);

3. Try run repair.exe in the game folder, just to get that out of way.

I suppose i should start a new game without mods and see what happens.

Do you have any security software that's preventing GD from saving to your My Documents folder (default location)?

I have everything white listed and excluded, if anything was going to block it it would be every time not sometimes.

I have no idea what's happening, i started a new game with no mods, played so far then quit to the menu, reloaded and it was fine.

I then quit the game and restarted my computer, loaded the game back up and continued my game and it didn't save properly, i still had a full inventory and a quest i finished wasn't.

I have cloud save disabled in steam and in game so i am lost to what's going on.

I use 2 mods that didn't screw with FG, the original Smash and Grab and (now an updated) Smash and Grab, both had 0 issues with FG. You may be running into conflicts, or using a very outdated mod. If you got them from Nexus check the comment section of those mods to see if anyone else had issues with FG.
Do you run Steam and Grim Dawn as Admin / in Admin Mode[compatibility settings]? I don't know how much Windows 10 defender stuff affects Grim Dawn itself, but i had saving (and even settings) issue's due it is blocked by that and the software itself has no admin rights.

If you use / run windows 7 than i don't know, but in that case i still would try to run admin mode. Also Antivir / Security Software like GrumpyKitten mentioned can be the fault here as well.

Wasn't OneDrive causing a bunch of problems at some point too?
