Sluggish combat

So I completely failed to fight Apollo. He just kills me pretty quickly and I think part of the problem is he moves around so damn fast whereas I run like a dead pig. There I am running and slashing and this is just slowing me down so I can't even hit him. Is this normal? I'm using keys and mouse since that seemed the more sensible method considering the weird controls.

I had to cheat and give myself 200 maximum health instead of 100. Am I supposed to level up somehow before this fight? Can I upgrade speed and combat at the same time? Sure I can run fast but try running and using my sword at the same time and I may as well be standing still.

You can collect armor upgrades, but that is about it. You should use the shield that gives you the light aura for as long as it lasts during the fight. Equip a very strong weapon like an axe and make the most of the hits you get in on him. I could hit him once (twice if I got lucky) before he would warp to a new spot. I didn't think it was too bad of a fight, and I think I only healed like twice (after he broke my shield I just said screw it and started tanking damage).

How do you get more stamina? That seems to be the main issue I have here. Either how to get more stamina in-game or modifying a file. I expected stamina to be in the player.xml file with the health but it's not.

Never mind, I've sorted it. Add this:

<StaminaAttackUse>0.05</StaminaAttackUse>

to the Player.xml file in Content\Characters above HealthRecharge . 0.05 is an acceptable value I think. I like games I can mod!
